U16/U19 Program

The Sycamore AYSO U16/U19 Program does conflict with high school soccer. If you are playing for the High School Team, IHSA rule state then as soon as you try out for soccer your can't play another program while your high schools season is in session. 

The U16/U19 Program runs for nine weeks from April-June and August-October.  U16/U19 Teams participate in weekly training sessions and a U16/U19 Game on Saturdays. Teams can be gender specific however they are Co-Ed as well. There are 90-minute weekly training session on weekdays twice a week. Games in the U16/U19 Program are officiated under FIFA Laws of the Game with approved youth modifications for time and and substitution policies.

U16/U19 Teams will travel to DeKalb, Rochelle and Rockford for the Spring and DeKalb, Rochelle, Genoa and Amboy in the Fall for League Games.

Teams are comprised of up to 22 players and will compete with 11 players, one of which is a goalkeeper. Each player plays at least half of every game. Players receive a uniform consisting of a numbered jersey, shorts and socks. Players must wear shin guards and shoes. Soccer cleats are recommended.

U16/U19 Teams requires a parent volunteer for each assignment of Team Coach, Assistant Coach, and Team Manager (Team Parent). Basic volunteer support for the team  will require three parents to volunteer as Regional Referees. One of those three parents must complete an Intermediate Referee Course. Referees will select a minimum number of required game assignments based on their individual calendar, schedule, comfort level, and interest over the coursed of the 8-week U14 Fall Program Schedule. Assistant Referee assignment and Center Referee Assignments are available for credit to the minimum team assignment requirements that are part of the basic volunteer support needed for each team.

An annual AYSO Volunteer application and one-time Safe Haven Certification is required for all Sycamore AYSO Volunteers. Sycamore AYSO U14 Team Coaches and Assistant Coaches must also complete an Intermediate Coach Course. Regional Referees must complete a Basic Referee Course
